They aim to promote local artists, but also to collaborate with international artists. Their distinctive characteristics are their great professionalism, the quality of their music and the artistic beauty of their content.
Project Overview
Our client, Plaisirs Sonores Records, approached Morebec with a clear vision: to differentiate themselves in an industry overwhelmed by generic content.
When they came to us, they did not have a strong Web presence yet. They were still an underground record label, and did not have a definitive brand image to represent them. They were known more by their sound, than by their visuals. They also wanted to simplify the process of artists or promoters getting in contact with them, as well as maker it easier for people to find out about the events and the corporate news they were promoting.
As such they were looking for us, to help them establish themselves online through a new website.
Before delving into web design, we collaborated with our client to define their brand's visual identity. This encompassed logo usage, typography, color palettes, and shapes. Together, we crafted a brand image that resonated with their core values and origins in Quebec, drawing inspiration from the province's diverse landscapes.
Addressing their technical requirements was crucial. Plaisirs Sonores Records wanted the ability to update website content easily, which included adding new artists, writing news posts, and listing upcoming events. To meet these needs, we chose the Grav CMS, a robust content management system. Leveraging Grav CMS, we designed an intuitive admin panel with custom buttons, enabling effortless content management.
Additionally, we integrated an event system that automatically synchronized with their Facebook page. This innovative approach allowed them to create events on Facebook, which were then automatically integrated into their website.
